Pros: reliability, ruggedness, off-road capability, power, construction quality Cons: ride and passenger comfort The Bottom Line: There aren't many trucks out there that are better-made and more reliable; unfortunately it's not a particularly comfortable vehicle
My '99 Tacoma has a birthday looming on the horizon -- 60,000 miles; "Just getting broken in," the service manager says -- and so I though I'd blow an entire Saturday sitting at the dealer since he's (Artie, for Red Truck) still under the...

Pros: Great looks, powerful motor, handling, etc. Cons: Shallow bed, hard to see clock The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for a mid-size pickup, the Tacoma is the best truck for the money.
In my last review, I described how I narrowed my recent new vehicle hunt down to two choices: a Nissan Frontier or a Toyota Tacoma. After spending half a day between two car dealerships, I ended up going with the Toyota. My last review describes why I...

Pros: Toyota Quality. Stylish Looks. Cons: A few minor inconveniences in the dash, read on! The Bottom Line: It's a Toyota, nuff said!
For as long as I have known my husband, and that's 15 years, he has been a loyal and faithful Toyota driver. He has had 3 cars in the time that I have known them, they were all Toyota Celica's. He has a definite love for the Celica, no matter what year...

Pros: looks, transmission, versatility Cons: price, ride, cramped interior, bed size, gas tank The Bottom Line: Overall, it’s a nice and useful truck for a small family.
This is a review on my sisters red Toyota Tacoma double cab, which I have driven on numerous occasions. The Tacoma has been around for a while, first introduced in 1995. The Double cab went on sale in 2000 as a 2001 model. In other parts of the ...

Pros: Rugged, dependible, stylish, ground clearance Cons: Low Torque motor, low towing capacity. The Bottom Line: You should buy the 2003 Toyota Tacoma if you are looking for a reliable compact truck that seats 5 adults comfortably and does not sacrifice performance.
I bought a 2003 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab 4x4 because I wanted more seating capacity than my old S-10 two seater had. I also needed a truck bed for hauling items that are too big and, more often, too messy to put inside a SUV, so a crew cab pickup was...

Pros: Good engine, fit and finish, nice ride, lots of stuff for the price, Toyota dependability Cons: Clock in a bad place, could use more power The Bottom Line: A small truck that can get a lot done without busting the bank. If you need to tow or haul with it, get the V6.
I purchased a 2003 Tacoma to replace my poor, aging Chevy S10 Blazer. The configuration I purchased is extended cab, 2wd, 4cyl, manual trans. SR5 package, power windows, locks, cruise, A/C, CD player. The truck really is nice to look at. The SR5 ...

Pros: looks great, good ride, great paint, fun to drive. Cons: limited accs, options can add up fast. The Bottom Line: If you need a truck for getting to work, hauling from home depot, and looking great, this is it.
Best truck I've seen out there. I just bought a home and needed a Home Depot Hauler. I didn't need a giant truck, and thought I would check out the smaller "mini trucks" as they were called when I was in High school. I went in thinking I was going to get ...

Pros: Great offroad performer Good looks Fun to drive Toyota reliability Seats 4-5 Cons: Expensive! No option for manual transmission for Double Cab model Smaller bed with the Double Cab The Bottom Line: Great reliability and offroad performance make for a sturdy truck.
Let me start off by saying I have never owned a vehicle other than a Toyota. That said there are other cars and trucks out there I like and I have considered other truck car makes.I bought a lightly used 2003 Double-Cab Tacoma 4x4 TRD ...

Pros: Excellent handling, adequate power and tight construction Cons: Poorly designed interior, terrible seat back, poor mileage The Bottom Line: A poor choice. Mechanical quality seems good, but very uncomfortable, poor mileage and substandard interior construction.
The transmission is sure and the engine is strong. However, mileage is poor. I have found that to get the rated highway mileage of 25 mpg you must drive under 68 mph. Driving 70 mph will drop the mileage to 23.5. City driving is even worse. I get...

Pros: Reliable and Compact, convenient and easy to load and handle large items; Quality Cons: None The Bottom Line: The 2003 Toyota Tacoma is a true truck to have because it's pretty decent on gas and other amenities.
Toyota has continued to dazzle its customers with the release of its 6th generation truck and the Tacoma nameplate. This is a truck that was designed and built in America. If one thing is clear, it's that Toyota's compact-pickup line has been doing...

The Bottom Line: If you're looking for Toyota reliability in a comfortable ride for a group with the ability to act like a truck, the double cab Tacoma is a perfect fit.
The Double cab looks sleek and fits the bill for someone looking for the ability to carry more than ...

Pros: Great looking truck, Outstanding resale Cons: shallow bed, poor quality of interior, terrible clock placement, poor overall quality The Bottom Line: I will look at American trucks first due to price and quality comparisons.
Last May, I purchased a 2003 Tacoma Prerunner 4 door. I had always admired these trucks but could never afford one. I saved my pennies and alas! I find a gently used (23,000) mile model with all of the goodies that I wanted in great shape. Even though ...

I LOVE MY TRUCK!

Recommended: Yes
Pros: Looks, reliabilty, low cost of maintenence, fun to drive! Cons: Placement of the clock!
This is the first Toyota truck I've ever owned. Have had an S-10 and a Ranger and I can tell you if I'd driven a Toyota back then I would've never bought the Chevy or the Ford.
There is nothing about this truck that would prevent me from buying any other truck ever again. The body style is awesome, everything works perfectly and has Toyota quality that we all know is nearly bulletproof.
I have the Pre-Runner, X-Cab in Super White with Oak interior. It is a BEAUTIFUL truck that I get compliments on all the time. Since I bought it in April 2003 I've added about $5000 in accessories:
FlowMaster Dual Exhaust with 13" slash cut chrome tips
18" Panther Chrome Wheels on Michelin Tires
Back Up Alert System
Billet Grille
Westin Bull Bar and Skid Plate
PIAA Fog Lamps
Hood and window wind deflectors
Tonnau Cover
Line-X bed liner
Bed Rug
Alpine Amp
Pioneer 350W Sub Woofer
Tinted windows
Remote Start
Sirius Satellite Radio
Magellan GPS
Burled Wood Dash Kit
Carpeted Dash Cover
Chrome Nerf Bars
My truck is different from the others on the road and I love showing it off!
