Berklee College of Music is an outstanding school - coming from the perspective of a staff members spouse and a music fan.
While Berklee is known worldwide for its music education - Berklee continually gives back to the community. In programs - such as their summer program which gives high school students the chance to taste the college life and the opportunity to win a scholarship to the school - to the different programs that Berklee hosts throughout the school year.
In staff - the faculty is second to none when it comes to music education. The faculty brings years of experience to the classroom and recital halls. Many of todays current stars are a result of a Berklee education.
In facilities - never a day goes by where I don't visit my wife at work and hear a multitude of music coming from the practice halls and recital rooms at Berklee. From the quaint setting of the Uchita Building (located in the heart of Boston's Back Bay) to the acoustically-pleasing Berklee Performance Center - the facilities are modern, well maintained, and an asset to the City of Boston. The BPC also plays host to a number of outside performers and performances - regional and national on a regular basis and also plays host to plays and other performances.
And location - Berklee is based in the heart of Boston's Back Bay. Shops, fine food, and history surrounds the Berklee campus which is spread out throughout the area. Blocks away - historic Fenway Park, and just a short trip on the Green Line MBTA - the Fleet Center.
Without a doubt - if music is in your future - it pays to check out Berklee College of Music.
