Keeps on working.
by jlockley ,Dec 09 '06
Pros: Does everything asked of it. Quieter than predecessor. Easy installation. Cons: Still no problems after several months. None anticipated.
This is an Inskinkerator in a Kenmore box.
Contrary to other reviews, the wires do not need to be exposed (pull them in through the side opening. Use a flexible aluminum or poly conduit, or have a plumber do it right with a conduit).
I have heard that the drive rusts out. With the price on one of Sears frequent sales, it's replaceable. Several months after purchase, however, I can say it is robust and efficient.
It replaces a twenty year old Kenmore top of the line ..probably 1/2 hp, but hard to tell..
This model is quieter and does everything asked of it.
Installation, especially as a replacement, takes time but is not too great a challenge. All parts provided.
What is there more to say?

A fine disposal. Quiet and easy to install.
by salduza ,Nov 18 '03
Pros: quiet, well priced, easy to install. Cons: a bit big - but that is subjective.
Very happy with this disposal. It is a very quiet unit to operate and we have had no problems with it.
I chose this one ahead of the next model down because this one has stainless steel blades. It was on sale (frequently is) and it was only a few bucks more. The warranty is a bit longer as a result, too.
If I were doing it again, I am not certain that I would go for 3/4 HP. I think that 1/2 is probably fine for the light duty that we give the unit.
Installation was very easy, though you need to be sure you have all the right tools first.
Don't bother buying the fancy stainless drain cover (it comes with a plastic one) as you will never need to use it.
Nicely designed unit cover. Not quite as ugly as some of the others.

Great Disposer
by helmickr ,Dec 27 '04
Pros: Very easy to install, quiet and powerful. Cons: So far we haven't experienced any difficulties with the unit.
The is the finest disposer we've owned. The unit attached to the old disposer mounting flange without modification, making it extremely easy to install. As for operation, It handles large quantities of waste in a quick and quiet manner.

Easy to install
by chasb101 ,Jan 16 '04
Pros: Quite and easy to install Cons: Wire box not sealed
I replaced my old 1/2 horse Kenmore with this model. Using the old drain hardware made it a snap to attach the new unit. Wiring may require a fitting to the unit to seal the wires inside.

Nice Disposer
by idxman ,Feb 07 '05
Pros: Quiet and powerful. Easy to install. Cons: Wires are a little exposed.
Once I removed the 25 year-old flange and snap ring from the original disposer, installing this disposer was a piece of cake. It's a very attractive, quiet, and solidly made product. Great buy.
