Good Buy, Great Show! by Tom_Mourgos Pros: Fun show to watch.
Cons: None. Daryl Hall & John Oates' vocals and production sound just as good as ever in this 3-disc set, which is one DVD and two audio CD's of the show.

They play all their big hits in this two-hour semi-acoustic show reminiscent of the early '90's shows. They also throw-in some surprises like "When The Morning Comes" and the severly over-looked "It's Uncanny". Charlie DeChant's sax has been a big-time enhancer for years, although Supercuts might want to speak to him.... Extras on the DVD include separate interviews with Daryl and John. |

A must-see for quirky humor by rhawkinson Pros: Funny, quirky comedy. Nice change of pace from some crap films out there.
Cons: Not as appreciated by critics as it should have been. Though any movie with George Clooney is a must-see for me, it was Brad Pitt's goofy portrayal of his character that made this movie for me. The story was definitely, uh, interesting...but it wasn't hard to follow and it did keep you interested in what would happen next. If you liked the "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" humor, you'll appreciate this comedy.

A story about love but Not a love story Life is truth and the truth is crazy. This gritty, real movie showed beautiful scenes and scenery in a marvelously acted movie. Kate Winslet blew me away with her acting. I even saw her acting in two layers. She brilliantly played a women trying to act normal. I highly recommend this movie. |

Marley makes you cry! by softedges Pros: I can't think of any.
Cons: It was a heartwrenching tearjerker. My husband and I went to this see "Marley & Me" expecting a cute comedy about a crazy dog. While it had its moments of being funny, the ending completely ruined the whole experience. I won't tell you the ending in case you still insist on going, but it is a heart wrenching tearjerker that even my husband had a hard time with. We both agreed that it could have been written to end quite differently in order to leave you with a good feeling. Instead, you leave the theatre quite upset! Numerous folks (men and women) even walked out before it ended. If you ever had a dog/pet that you loved dearly and is no longer with us, DO NOT go to this movie and DO NOT let your children see the ending!

Pleasantly surprised with a good laugh or two! by gala62 Pros: Jim Carrey back in form with good supporting cast.
Cons: A bit long and preachy. Yes Man became the choice between my husband and I as we couldn't agree on anything else (Benjamin Button vs Seven Pounds). Plus the previews looked promising - hopefully Jim was back to his old giddy self!

I haven't seen a Jim Carrey movie in the theatre in ages and wasn't sure what to expect. We were both pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the theme and acting quite a bit. Jim brought some of his old goofiness as well as some maturity to the role. Zooey Deschanel was charming, as was most of the rest of the supporting cast. And lets just say that Finnoula Flanagan's role ("Tillie") was disturbing in the best possible way. And I can watch John Michael Higgins in just about anything (Best in Show is still my favorite). Yes Man ran a little too long and the message became a bit overstated, but overall, it had some really good laughs and cute moments. Well worth seeing. |
