Pros: Off-road capability, versatile interior, visibility, steering, thoroughly engineered Cons: High-speed handling, fuel consumption, no seat height adjuster in SE, low on amenities The Bottom Line: Highly recommended for venturing off the beaten path with plenty of people and/or gear. But too much capability and too few amenities for use as a minivan substitute.
I'm not an SUV guy. But I'm always intrigued by a well-thought-out vehicle. And once I got past my initial impression of the Land Rover LR3's styling, I found it to be one such vehicle. The LR3 has been available in SE and HSE forms, and soon a base ...

Pros: ELEVEN (!!!) cupholders; impressive engine; lots of cargo space; easy to fold seats Cons: cupholder design; sunroof; busy interior; gap in cargo area with partial 2nd row seats up The Bottom Line: First impression I had at the dealership was that this car was amazing! Then I borrowed one for 24 hours, and I repeatedly found things I disliked.
I was seriously considering buying an LR3--even had a deposit at the dealership. The dealer let me keep his LR3 overnight so I could sample the stereo in the SE (which, by the way, is a reason to spend the extra money and buy an HSE--the stereo in the ...

Pros: Comfort and convenience in one package Cons: Fuel Economy is a little better than a full size truck. The Bottom Line: Better than the others. I recommend.
I ready many of the reviews for this vehicle and found that either the person reviewing it did not know what they wanted in an SUV or they were so use to driving a particular car that they went into the test drive with a closed mind. This thing ROCKS. ...

Pros: Outstanding design, clean lines with the 4x4 heart of the Jag V8. Cons: Mileage, but if you can spend $50K on a car then who cares.
After testing EVERY other SUV on the market the LR3 took our breath away! First off not every other car is a Land Rover, and second the car is flawless! Even though this is a first year model it drive like a car thats been refined over years of trial and error. It fits like a glove and Land Rover should be proud of this new offering. We love it and I hope if you are looking at the LR3 you decide to buy it. We recommend it!

Pros: comfort, ride, power, visibility, tight turning radius, big interior Cons: cup holders too big
Bought it to replace a '99 LX470. Similar cargo space, but a thousand times nicer to drive. This is a superb vehicle. It has a very tight turning radius, so is great in the city. Visibility is superb. I've towed a boat for perhaps 300 miles and the ability to switch to manual shift is a big advantage. Had a problem with the electronic thing ("ECU"?) that controls the ABS/parking brake; the dealer replaced it quickly and it's been perfect since. The cupholders between the front seats are indeed too big, but they work for a tall Starbucks (but not for bottled water); I'll find something to fix the problem. I've not yet been off road so can't comment. Thought of buying the Touareg; loved it, but it's a touch small for my needs. Navigation system takes some experience to use effectively, but certainly useful and, with experience, user friendly.
