Truly Enjoying My 2005 Toyota RAV4

by Suzer Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Sharp appearance, reliability, Toyota name, easy to drive, small/compact for an SUV
Cons: No keyless entry on basic model, steering wheel feels awkward, lack of legroom in backseat
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the Toyota RAV4 for those who enjoy a smaller vehicle but want the space in the back for pets, transporting purchases, want a nice looking reliable car.

Owning and driving my Toyota RAV4 is really a lot of fun. by the way, this will not be a review geared toward those who are tech-oriented-just for the average driver. Having said that, I have driven and enjoyed this car for a year now. I purchased ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Toyota Reliability + Resale, Visibility
Cons: Accleration up hills, Back Seat
The Bottom Line: The Toyota Rav4 is a great purchase in the mid sized SUV market, as it is reliable and has a high resale value.

Toyota has established itself as reputable car manufacturer for two simple reasons. These would include its overall reliability levels and resale values, which are second to none. It has many different models in all vehicle categories, and a top notch ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Toyota reliability, good looks, resale value, practicality, versatility, and more.
Cons: Some minor flaws in interior quality (although it's great for the price).
The Bottom Line: The RAV4 is great for the price and is sure to please. See the section of the review entitled "Conclusion" for more.

A note to readers of this review For this particular vehicle, I’m going to step away from my usual style of reviewing which involves throwing around numbers and ranting about how the car handles and accelerates. Although I will talk about those ...

Cute-ute that's not so cute (and that's a GOOD thing!)

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Amazing versatility; the engine's power and economy; agile runabout; ease of parking; most important:RELIABILITY
Cons: After years of driving sedans, a small SUV characteristics takes a bit getting used to.
The Bottom Line: The 2005 Toyota RAV4 is heartily recommended. I must say after owning a variety different marks; this is (so far)turning out to be the best car I ever owned.

My previous car, a 1996 Chrysler Cirrus LX, had suffered a second transmission failure and that was the last straw (and I had just finished making the last car payment!). During its last year, the car was going through a series of breakdowns that ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: 30+ MPG, POWER! COMFORT!
Cons: Low Tire Pressure Gauge light is a common problem
The Bottom Line: Superb vehicle overall.

I got my RAV4, All Wheel Drive new from the dealer in 2005. To avoid new car enthusiasm, I decided to wait before reviewing the car. I honestly never thought I would buy an SUV of any type but after rolling and totaling my Chevy S10 pickup (see previous ...

Cute, Dependable, Great Handling but the seats stink!

by liposuction

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 1.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Cute! Great handling. Excellent breaks. Good in the rain and snow.
Cons: Radio gets bad reception and sound quality is poor. Driver seat is extremely uncomfortable.
The Bottom Line: I'm giving the car a low score because no matter how wonderful everything else is, if the seats hurt, what's the point?

I bought this car from it's previous owner and basically fell in love with the looks of the car. She is so cute! I got the Limited version with leather seats, AWD. The car handles great. Really nice feel to the steering. I love the breaks. She stops nice ...

An all around awesome vehicle!

Pros: 4 WD; Head,Leg, Front,Rear, Cargo room, MPG Power in the engine! Star Safety System!
Cons: No standard alarm; No standard fog lights.
My wife and I bought this SUV for the gas mileage and the winters we have here in western NY! To our surprise, it has been great! We love the car; it handles and performs great, and its fun to drive. We have full confidence behind the wheel. The features Toyota added are great! After looking at many of the SUVs in its class, this was the one for us! This has been our first winter, and so far, the RAV has been a real trooper in our major snow storms. As a pastor I need a reliable car to get around in emergencies, this is it! I love this SUV so much I helped my grandfather buy one just like it!

Love my little SUV

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: comfortable, cute, versatile.
Cons: gas mileage (mine less than sticker by 4-5 mpg).
After years of a typical 4 door sedan, the Rav 4 is a nice change. Its got a very comfortable ride and is easy to fold up or remove seats and haul stuff. The only disappointment has been a good bit less than advertised gas mileage, but still not too bad. Mine is a loaded out sport version - and the cute factor is definitely there. Definitely a nice package - a comfortable ride, ability to haul stuff, and its cute - how many vehicles can you get all of that in?

Pros: Great acceleration. Good fuel economy. Nice feal and turning radius.
Cons: If you're tall, the seat doesn't go back far enough. Big blind spot.
I've had several toyota trucks and all are impressive. The Rav 4 has super acceleration for a 4 cylinder and the fuel economy is also a great feature.
Service plan is extremly cheap.
