Pros: Excellent gameplay, great graphics, realistic planes and physics, interesting plot.
Cons: Graphics errors, complicated gameplay, complicated controls, lack of training, demanding system requirements.

Pros: It is cheaper than Microsoft Flight Sim. Has plenty of aircraft to try.
Cons: The graphics are horrible. The flight dynamics are horrible.

Pros: Good graphics, lots of planes to fly.
Cons: Training missions don't teach anything at all.

First let me say that I am new to air flight sims, but experienced in Star Wars flight sims. I am therefore used to having training which actually teaches something. Which the SW sims were really good for.

The Microsoft CFS3 however has no training whatsoever. It claims to have training, but in reality the training missions don't tell you anything at all. There's no advice, nobody to tell you how to operate the planes controls. They just call them "training" missions because you gain no experience for them.

The manual often mentions training films which are non-existent in the game. Maybe they have them online or something, but the manual says they are in the game which they are not.

So naturally I don't know what the heck I am doing and the game is not much fun.

The graphics are good. But who cares about the graphics if the game is not enjoyable, which for me as a beginner it is not.

Pros: More airplanes, more realistic.
Cons: The P-51 is broken. Sometimes crashes computer.

They improved the variety of aircraft that can be flown, definitely improved the performance of some airplanes that did not work well in Combat Flight Sim 1 (such as the P-47 Thunderbolt); but then completely broke the P-51 Mustang. In Combat Flight Sim 1, the P-51 is brilliant, but in Combat Flight Sim 3, that poor plane can't get out of its own way. Perhaps some patches are available that may improve performance.

One other thing I'd really like to see is a Korean War version of Combat Flight Simulator, or perhaps an expansion pack for Combat Flight Simulator 3. I want to fly F-86's, F2 Panthers, MIG-15's, Twin Mustangs, etc.
How come no one has thought of that?
