Try your hardest to avoid.
The original Dollhouse Minatures Magazine (and it's formerly named Nutshell News) was full of wonderful ideas. Inspirations to newbies and experienced miniaturists.
Unfortunately, in December 2007 the magazine was purchased and taken over by Ashdown Publishing.
They changed the format from once a month to bi-monthly.
They lost numerous subscribers information, requiring the subscriber to send in canceled checks or credit card statements. All the while still quite able to send out renewal notices.
Ashdown publishes three miniature magazines, two in the United States and one in the United Kingdom. Between the three magazines there are numerous duplicated articles. In fact, they are republishing old articles from Dollhouse Miniatures in the UK magazine. Touting them as new and just for Dolls House World. The author of those articles was never notified of the republishing.
If you are looking for miniature magazines, I suggest you search the internet for a local NAME (National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts) representative, a local Miniature Show, or Miniature Shop. They often have past issues of excellent magazines, full of wonderful ideas.
