Pros: Wonderful technology, easy to use, kids must have it, lots of different games Cons: Games can be limited when playing alone
Remember a decade ago when we were all assured that "virtual reality" was the wave of the future? It never really happened, did it? Sure, there are some arenas where virtual reality is a huge plus- flight simulators come to mind- but for the most part ...
Pros: Takes 2 minutes to learn, tones up under-arm jiggle. FUN! Cons: Takes awhile to load (waits between songs), no legs involved, good bra required
Groove is a dance game and is the first "real" / "full length" game from Sony for the Eye-Toy on PS2. Best thing since thigh-busters. It's entertaining and you'll be unintentionally exercising (you'll know when ...
Pros: not a bad dance game Cons: not a great one either.
I got Eye Toy Groove several months ago when I got it in a bundle pack with the eye toy. My main reason for getting it was to use it for D

Pros: Easy to set up, kids and adults have fun. Cons: Camera can be confused by room decorations and inadequate lighting.
It's about time that someone has come up with a new way to play video games on a console. Sony's EyeToy for PlayStation 2 consoles places you in the game, literally. The premise of EyeToy is to place your moving image (and, possibly, sound) on the ...
Cool Gadget, But A Little Ahead of It's Time by ra64 - Top 1000,Jan 21 '04
Pros: Innovative concept Cons: Limited by technology
Sony's Eye Toy is a camera with some sort of motion sensor, allowing you to play games controlled by your body and hand movements instead of a regular controller. While this is a nifty idea, in reality the Eye Toy provides limited fun factor.
The major problem of the Eye Toy is its limitations. The motion sensor can only be so precise, so often you have to twitch your hand for a few seconds in order for it to detect movement. The sensor detects quick movements poorly. The sensor does not work well in dimly lit rooms. The graphics from the camera displayed on the television set are not bad, but obviously not up to the level of a conventional video game. In addition, curious onlookers standing in the background can trigger the sensor disrupting the game.
Sony provides 12 mini games with the Eye Toy. Some can be some fun, but none of them really grabbed my attention. Most of the games were repetitive, cheesy and overall limited.
While the Eye Toy is a cool little gadget, I fail to see it catching on anytime soon. For now, I'll stick with those old school controller/joystick based games.
Throwing a Party? Throw in an Eye Toy! by northernchief ,Jan 27 '04
Pros: Creative use of motion capture camera to play games, great for parties. Cons: Causes kids (and sometimes adults!) to argue over who is next.
One of the coolest, and simple to use gadgets to grace the shelves this year! It's USB cable connects easily to the front of your Playstation 2, and all you have to do is pop in the included game cd and your off and playing. For Christmas I hooked this thing up for my family to play. Everyone from my six year old cousin to my seventy year old Grandpa wanted to get in there and give it a go (although it was funny to see my Grandpa punch AT the screen). Everyone was laughing and having a good time, so it proves great at parties, no matter the age. The games are a little cheesy, but what party game isn't? You can create profiles for each person (with a memory card) and the game uses different pictures of the player to indicate if the player is winning or losing. Dim rooms aren't even a real problem once you find the option for dim rooms, which considerably brightens the game. The only problem I found was that this game/toy causes kids to argue who is next to play!
