Pros: One of the most unusual and beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. Cons: Room is small, but it doesn't seem to matter.

Pros: Excellent service, good location, restaurant on site, flawless room. Cons: none
Almost everything about the hotel and staff was perfect during my stay. Lobby: The staff at the desk was exceptionally friendly and whisked us through check-in. There were fresh baked cookies at the counter to enjoy during the quick process. In the ...
Pros: Beautiful building, eye-catching rooms, good location Cons: Front Desk a bit slow
As a frequent visitor to downtown San Francisco, I've stayed at most of the major chain hotels in the area, and there's something comforting about their consistency, but it also gets rather numbing. Sometimes, it's nice to try something with a bit more ...

A wonderfully unique little boutique hotel! by lpmashburn ,Jul 08 '08
Pros: Location, price, staff Cons: Not any I can think of!
We have stayed at the hotel Monaco two times while in San Fran. Both times is was a delightful experience. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. And you can't beat this great location. There are always taxis out of front door you can jump right in, if needed. We went down one afternoon for the wine reception one and they even had a lady giving back massages in the lobby, for a small fee. The rooms are decorated very tastefully and the noise was not a real factor. You don't really notice the rooms being small because all the other amenities. Plus, if you are like us in a city like San Fran, you don't really spend much time in the rooms. Avoid the larger chains and try this great little boutique hotel!
Very Impressed with the Hotel Monaco by mrusamike ,Feb 16 '06
Pros: Excellent staff, hotel design, room, food, location to San Francisco attractions. Cons: The area around the hotel seems to attract the homeless, Be careful when walking around.
A breath of fresh air.... My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Monaco on a recent trip into the city. We were very impressed with the hotel and will stay there again. From the moment that we pulled up to the front curb of the hotel we were immediately greeted by the Valet. We were immediately assisted up with our baggage from our vehicle into the hotel lobby. The front desk staff made us feel very welcome and at ease. Our Bellman, James, gave us the history of the Hotel Monaco as he took our bags to our room. Our room was warmly decorated and the bed was a queen size poster bed draped with silk fabric. We dinned at the Grand Cafe in the lobby of the Hotel. Outstanding food and service. We really couldn't find a weak point to this hotel. The Hotel is located within (2) blocks of Union Square and within (1) block of the theater district. My wife and I were very impressed with the hotel staff and would recommend it to anyone vacationing in the city.
