Pros: Brakes, Stability, Design, Performance, Drive-shaft, Stereo system. Like an anvil. Steady and reliable. Cons: Some surging problems, 2002 and 2003 models. Dual-spark plug design 2004, fixed the problem.
I finally picked up my 2004 Limited edition BMW R1150 RT-L in Midnight Black. Only 200 exist in the U.S. I have read allot of opinions. The Japanese bikes are good but will not last the long term quality of BMW. I was totally set on the Honda ST 1300. ...

Pros: power windshield, power, ride quality, adjustable seat, tons of fairing storage for stuff Cons: side bags don't hold full face helmet
I have had several bikes over the past 2 years and am not tied to one brand (Suzuki Bandit 600, Yamaha Vstar 1100, BMW 1200c Phoenix). All have been great bikes in their own respect but my taste change and why just ride one bike. After recent trips ...

My favorite bike
by beemer4 ,Apr 26 '06
Pros: detachable bags, clean look, great sound, power windshield and heated handlebars Cons: shifting get some use to, more costly to maintain
I bought it with 2000 miles and 18 months left on the warranty for for thousands less than new.I use to own a Concours it was so buzzy I could not feel my hands then I bought a Gold Wing but I spent my days polishing it. Now I do not have to spend all day polishing the chrome and my bike looks new all the time (I have put up 1500 miles in the last 3 weeks thanks to heated bars.At speed without the bags it feels very sporty and solid and put the bags on fill them up and we are gone for the weekend. It gets 55 MPG ( that beats my Expedition). The brakes and your shifting style will change if you have not ridden BMW before. Your wallet may complain when you send it for an inspection. But believe me this bike will grow on you and you will have a happy face whenever you ride. You are also sure not to see one at every street corner. Every time I stop I get a lot of attention with its good look. This is a bike that does it all really well.

Pros: fast Cons: still working
I have rt1150 2003 , the starter drags when starting I have taken it to my mechanic & he tells me that he will have to remove the gear box to remove the starter motor as the bolts holding the starter are screwed in from inside the gear box with in the bell housing. Can this be true has any out there any suggestion or experienced this problem any info appreciated
