Pros: It's different. Cons: Extremely Poor Quality, Poor Warranty.

2004 BMW R1200 CL Review
by chevyelke ,Mar 20 '05
Pros: Bang for buck, Comfort, Brakes, Styling Cons: Moving the handle bars back and forth in grid lock traffic to keep it upright.
The BMW 1200 CLC is a very nice motorcycle, probably the best buy for the money with excellent fit and finish. In addition, it has tons of storage and does not have your typical UJM (Universal Japanese Motorcycle) styling. Awesome ABS braking system and a very stable electronic cruise control. It is extremely stable running down the road even when an 18 wheeler passes you going the opposite direction on a two lane road. The passenger has great comfort and room. The heated seats and grips are very nice for those chilly mornings.

Mine is a Capri Blue 2003 R 1200 CLC
by spoon222 ,Jun 22 '06
Pros: Excellent handling, braking, ride quality, and mechanical systems Cons: Not the fastest 1200 cc machine on the road
I purchased my 2003 R1200CLC new in May 2004. It has been just excellent all around for both long distance touring and shorter one to three hour rides with my spouse. I am very pleased with the heated grips and seats as those make chilly weather or rainy weather riding much more comfortable. The six speed transmission, high torque, lower horsepower boxer twin is fine for conservative, experienced motorcyclists. This is not a beginners bike, as the heavy steering is cumbersome at low speed, but on the open road it handles great and is very confidence inspiring. The linked brakes are the best I have ever used on a motorcycle and you can stop this bike quickly with no front end dip what-so-ever. Three luggage cases are small but useful for 2-3 days of gear for the rider. Tire wear and ride quality with the factory Metzlers cannot be faulted. It also comes with an excellent AM-FM-NOAA weather channel and CD sound system.
