Pros: Audio INPUT, Durable, lots of media editing power, never got a virus, EVER Cons: Had RAM issue where lower RAM slot stopped working
I have owned a powerbook for the past 3 years and have loved nearly every minute of using it. For me, one of the huge advantages is that it has an AUDIO INPUT jack, where as the iBook from it's time does not. In fact, none of the ibooks have an AUDIO IN ...

Pros: I like the looks and feel. Things just work! Apple support is tops! Cons: None
I just treated myself to a new Power Book. I'm coming out of the Windows world, and am trying to figure out how to get my office to change. The machine worked first time out of the box. It was easy to get it out, start it up, make it work. The only ...

The Better Alternative
by frictionlever ,Sep 20 '06
Pros: Runs very smoothly; Light weight; Durable; Apple has great customer service and warranties Cons: not very good wireless reception; built-in speakers are not very loud
Upon purchasing my PowerBook, the first thing I thought was "Wow, this thing is light!". And that it is, compared to my old Dell Inspiron laptop. It's so easy to carry around, be it at a school campus, home, or work. But it goes far beyond that. Since owning my PowerBook, I haven't had a single virus, no weird random freezes or software problems that generally come along with using a PC. Originally, I purchased it for use in my music studio. I had heard from numerous engineers that Macs are the best for multimedia. I couldn't agree more. I no longer have to worry about my computer freezing up in the middle of a recording and losing everything. To me, that is priceless. My only cons are that the built-in speakers are not very loud, and because the PowerBook is made of metal, it doesn't pick up wireless service as well as others made with plastic. But, on the other hand, the metal casing is very durable, and protects well against wear and tear.

Fantastic Laptop
by abby1345 ,Feb 18 '08
Pros: Easy to use, Durable Cons: Cost
I have used this laptop for 4 years and it has been my pride and joy. It handles everything I do with ease. While, it has had some issues, white spots on screen and a Hard Drive fail, I attribute these issues, with technology, not the laptop. I am a college student, so thus having a laptop that is easy to use and durable is a must. It was kind of expensive when I got it, but it was worth. Apple products are always worth it. This laptop is also nice because it has a wide array of ports so one never has to worry to much about not being able to hook up to any media. I have added some RAM to deal with demands of today's programs, but I think everyone should have as much ram as possible.
