Great in Snow, but.....
by harryjwild ,Jul 06 '04
Pros: Snow Tractions & handling Cons: Road noise & fuel economy
I've had the V Rated Traction T/A's now for 3 seasons. They are fantastic in the snow and have very good performance in the rain. They do tend to hydroplane in deep pooling of water though. The cornering performance is also very good, but I attribute the increase in handling more to the upgrade from an H rated tire to a V rated tire (stickier rubber). The problems I have with these tires are the highway noise they put out (they produce a very loud humming when at highway speeds) and the reduction in fuel economy. I went from an Eagle GA H rated Tire that gave me over 32 MPG around 75 MPH to this tire which at best gives me 27 MPG under the same conditions.
I would only recommend this tire if you plan to have a second set of tires & rims to do the summer/winter change-over.

Traction TA Spec Goodrich Tire - Bad Traction
by db54 ,Nov 16 '06
Pros: Look good and that is about it. Cons: poor traction in rain and overall handling
Whether or not this "spec" is a T or a V is immaterial because they accompany "some" 2006 Pacific FWD/AWD vehicles from Chrysler when buying off the lot.
problem is that while they look good on the car their traction in rain and cornering is extremely poor.
One might think that a V6 is a driver but these stock tires for the pacifica are being replaced with what was originally recommended - Michelins.

Great Allseason Tire
by purdueboiler ,Sep 10 '07
Pros: Great traction in snow, rain, and dry conditions. Great for even a sports car. Cons: susceptible to uneven wear if dont get your alignments and wheels balanced.
Im on my second set of these on a 2000 honda civic SI and live in the midwest. I drive hard and alot. Previous tires I've had were yokohamas Avid's and the OEM michelin Pilots, and the BF goodrich traction T/A V beats them hands down.
These are a great allseason tire. Exceptional snow, dry, and rain performance. I've driven through so many heavy thunderstorms and snowstorms without any issues. I drive my car hard and they stick well, no squirming, yet a comfortable ride.
I bought a set of Blizzak winter tires just for the heck of it, and didn't gain anything. Even when it was 10 degrees below zero outside with 5" inches of snow on the ground, there were no gains by using a dedicated winter tire. Ended up selling the winter tires and just rolling on T/A's for the entire year, even with winter ski trips up into the mountains.
The civic is not well insulated against sound, and I didnt notice any increase in road noise. I did not see any loss of gas mileage.
First set lasted 50,000mi...now am on my second. Also have them on my other car.

Noise Nosie Noise
by redmiata92 ,May 09 '07
Pros: None Cons: Noise, noise, noise
I put these tires on 18 months ago on my Camry XLE. and the noise was unbearble. BFG wouldn't do anything about it. So, I endured. After not rotating them and 25,000 miles later, they are shot and I am glad to see them go. Never liked them. Getting Nokian. I have also looked at Goodyear Triple tread and am impressed so far. So I may change from the Nokian, but the reviews on Nokian are swaying me.
