A Cut Above

Pros: Great performance. Designed in Baltimore Oriole colors
Cons:

Work time limited by battery life.

Being cordless is not always a good thing, like if you're playing a musical instrument, singing in a choir, or jumping with a parachute. On the other hand, cordless can be wonderful if you're talking about a phone, game controller, keyboard and mouse, ...

A good trimmer for a small yard.

by wilson0423 , Aug 22 '08
Pros: No messy gasoline or oil mixtures to deal with, automatic string feed, Environmentally friendly
Cons: Batteries do not hold a long charge. Not powerful enough for anything thicker than grass.
The Black and Decker Grasshog is a very good little grass trimmer. The battery packs make it more convenient and cleaner than a traditional two cycle engine trimmer, and much better than dealing the long cords of other electric trimmers. As a bonus ...

Black and Decker Grasshog Rechargeable

by toiletoctopus Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Oct 03 '08
Pros: Efficient, Easy to Use, Price, Doesn't use oil or gas
Cons:

Battery Charge

Although I look at lawn care, in similar light to a trip to the dentist, it is a necessity in Northern Virginia. While some communities have a laissez faire approach to grass regulations, the Fairfax Grass Police are always on patrol, and looking for ...

Great Value And Convenience

by cavalier30_01 , Sep 22 '08
Pros: Well balanced, quiet, and unlimited range of use.
Cons: Once the battery starts losing it's charge, performance degrades significantly.
The last Black and Decker string trimmer that I owned was an electrical cord powered unit that lasted approximately 6 years. I had no desire to purchase a gas-powered unit because, A) they are noisy, B) those 4-cycle engines can be temperamental, C) ...

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions, Which One to Buy. When

by badbonz0007 badbonz0007 is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Home and Garden, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Aug 30 '08
Pros: Well-known brand name and excellent for small yards.
Cons: Batteries will definitely not last long, if you have a large yard.
My wife and I have owned several different types of lawn edgers and trimmers in our lifetime; these include the cordless and electric models from craftsman, Black & Decker, and the new one on the market the Worx GT. Our craftsman and Black & ...

love it
by cmmdrdata ,Nov 30 '07
Pros: low noise, starts & stops easily, auto feed string, no gas or oil
Cons: not as powerful as the gas powered ones but still gets the job done.
I bought this after having a john deere gas trimmer first then an gas echo string trimmer after the first was stolen. This trimmer has been so easy to use and with two batteries I can easily do front and back yards. It is so nice having automatic string feed on this trimmer after having the kind that you have to bump on the ground and having trouble with the trimmer line binding with the other two. Granted there is less power in the black and decker but there is also a lot less noise (no ear plugs needed). Its also safe to use around pets as it stops and restarts very quickly. I've only had mine through 1 summer so far but it has been so easy to use that I use it twice as often as I used my other two.

This tool works well....Batteries don't last
by faithful2 ,Jul 12 '08
Pros: The Grasshog is designed for light tasks and works is a pleasure to operate.
Cons: Both battery packs #244760 are losing their ability to hold a charge.
I purchased the Grasshog 8 months ago and used it on 7 occasions. For the first few occasions the tool worked as expected and the auto line feed was a welcome sight. However, both Battery Packs #2440760 that were provided are beginning to fail. This tool works well only when fully charged. At present, neither pack will accept a full charge. One pack is down to a single LED on the charger. The other is also showing signs of failure. The cost of replacement batteries virtually exceeds the cost of the tool. Since I have lost faith in Black and Decker's ability to provide a decent battery, I am forced to rely on an OEM (other equipment manufacturer) provider for battery replacements. This need for substitute batteries has raised the overall cost of the Grasshog significantly.
