Pros: Exceeds US safety standards, comfortable, high quality, looks great, 5 point harness, more inside Cons: Local availability, price, bulky, no cup holders, two people needed to install
I chose a 5 point harness Britax car seat for my daughter and then chose another 5 point harness Britax car seat (the Britax Regent) for her once she had outgrown the other one. Why? I wanted her to be safe and did not feel that she would be safe in a ...
We are going on several road trips this summer, and I am sure that you are too. If your child is upgrading from an baby car seat to a big kid booster, Britax is the way that you want to go!! HOW THEY DO GROW FAST My history of car seats is ...
Pros: Nice seat, comfortable for kids Cons: Big, heavy, expensive, no lock offs
I currently own a Britax Roundabout and Britax Marathon for my 1 year old daughter and a Graco Nautilus and a Britax Regent for my 3 year old son. I really like Britax car seats because they are very easy to use (LOVE the lock offs for non-LATCH ...
Before I knew Britax existed, my oldest was 4yrs and 40lbs. I did what I thought I HAD to do and I moved him to a booster. Fast forward 2yrs and he was flopping so badly due to a mild scoliosis that he would be sleeping with his head on his knees. ...
Pros: High top harness slots, High weight limit, Britax name brand. Cons: Seat is fairly heavy.
I want to keep my child in a 5-point harness as long as I can, and Britax makes this possible with the Regent! This seat has very high top harness slots along with a high weight limit of 80 lbs which allows for extended harnessing. The weight limit ...
Pros: Britax peace of mind
80 pounds 5 pt protection
Easy LATCH install
Comfy Cons: Pricey (but the last you'll ever buy!)
Long-path install is hard
Wide
Britax products have always meant peace of mind for our family. We got a Husky several years ago when a friend found a closeout price on an unpopular color. When we were in a car accident, the insurance company agreed to buy the upgrade--the Regent. ...
Pros: SAFE 5 point harness up to 80 pounds Cons: Awkward to install and store and straps tangled all the time.
We own 2 Marathons and 2 Regents. We started our 4 year old out in the Marathon and mover her to the Regent when the baby came. We did not need to move her, the Marathon was still big enough, we chose to move her to a wider seat. Let's face it Britax ...
Pros: Large, Able to use for long time Cons: Large, difficult to see rearview if it stays in the center seat
I bought this when my daughter was three months as the infant carrier was getting too heavy and crammed. I absolutely love this car seat. It goes up to 60lbs while the Graco counterpart is only 45lbs. I chose to keep the car seat in the center of my ...
Pros: EXCELLENT FOR A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD Cons: THIN STRAPS WOULD LOVE TO SEE THICK STRAPS LIKE IN THE WIZARD.
EVERYONE HAS AN OPINION THIS SEAT SUITS MY NEEDS VERY WELL.I HAVE OWNED THE BRITAX ROUNDABOUT ADVANTAGE, THE BRITAX WIZARD AND THE BRITAX REGENT.I ALSO OWN THE BRITAX COMPANION WITH STROLLER. WHAT CAN I SAY I LOVE BRITAX. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ...
Pros: Big seat. Comfortable. Name dependability. Cons: Flimsy straps that will get twisted.
My son is by no means big for his age but he looks like he is in a giant recliner. The seat does take up a lot of room so make sure you measure before you buy. I feel like he is safe in this because of the 5 point harness which is hard to find in a booster.
Pros: britax name, construction, roominess Cons: weight, shoulder tensioner not well designed.
we have a total of 4 britax seats. 1 roundabout, 1 marathon and 2 regents. we bought the regents for our almost 4 yr old instead of later buying boosters.
the regent is big. but it fits in our odyssey with no problem. it is as easy to install with latch as all other britax seats. only difference is weight. this thing weighs more than any other seat i have seen!
my daughter loves the wider seat b/c she can cross her legs rather than dangling for hours on long trips. the wider flatter seat probably is a little less safe than the narrower convertible seats with higher side bolstering...
the only criticism is that the tensioner for the shoulder belts does not pull smoothly across the underside of the seat. the belt on the convertibles runs under the seat against plastic and doesnt contact the seat. the regent belt must pull across the actual seat and the underside of the regent which is a textured plastic. it is harder to pull the belt to tension the shoulder belts. not a great design. otherwise it seems to be great. nothing to break. exactly what we expected of britax...
Pros: Easy buckles, great color, comfortable -lots of padding Cons: very big, hard to install
I looked and looked for a good car seat for my son who is now 4.. I bought a couple different seats before I found this one. It was recommended from a friend who has twin boys. Once we got it installed, it has been the BEST seat ever. The buckles are easy to use and dont twist. (problem I had w/ the other 2) The 5 point harness is great. Very comfortable seat and we love the black color. It wont show dirt or spills. I called Target.com and they gave me 15% off and free shipping. (just bcuz I asked) I do agree, it is a huge seat but since we have a van, it fits perfectly in the seat.
Hit by a Semi and my child walked away unharmed by zebrachicy ,Dec 20 '07
Pros: Safe, Easy to install, Comfortable, Nice Fabrics Cons: Heavy
This car seat saved my daughter's life. We were hit by a semi truck on my daughter's side of the minivan. After spinning around and flipping multiple times, my husband and I rushed out of the car as fast as humanly possible to get to the back to our daughters. They were both in Britax car seats and NOTHING happened to either one of them. NOTHING. When the police and medics arrived, they told me Britax was the best and that we had the seats installed perfectly and that we had them strapped in perfectly. We had to purchase new car seats cause of the accidents and we bought the same ones again. (Our younger daughter was in a Britax Wizard. They don't sell it anymore)
I don't know what would of happened with another car seat but I do know that this one saved my daughter's life and prevented her from having lifelong injuries.
Pros: roomy comfortable secure sturdy safe Cons: heavy, maybe too big for smaller sedans, only 1 click when connected
We bought two of these seats for our four and five and a half year old. Although they are big and heavy, we have the room in our SUV. The kids find them comfortable and roomy. The material is soft and plush. The straps are easy to adjust and feel very secure. If they fall asleep in them, the 5 point harness and the sides of the seat keep their heads from bobbling all over. We are also satisfied with the customer service of the Britax company in keeping their customers informed and providing follow through on recalls. You can't go wrong with this product. We are extremely satisfied with this product.
We are looking to buy another two for a smaller vehicle and we don't believe there would be enough room in our smaller sedan for these seats, so we are considering other 5 point options.
