I come from a family where eating fresh fish means that you catch it and clean it and cook it all within two hours. Captain Kidds is a restaurant where you can have the freshness. You can take the whole family or a date as well as dine by yourself....

Pros: The decorations and nautical theme were pleasing to the eye.
Cons: The food was not pleasing to the palate.

We went to Captain Kidd's after a long, hot day at Disneyland. We were very hungry and excited to be eating a sit down supper. We both ordered the "House Special", a chicken fettuccine dish with a side of garlic cheese toast. It was a horrible concoction, smelling like rancid fish and tasting very salty and rubbery. We only ate a couple of bites each. The garlic cheese toast had a smear of something orange and powdery on it - also very salty. We were not sure why they called it the house special. We were so tired, we were in hysterics! That was when the manager happily told us that "it sure looks as though you folks are having fun!" After supper we had to go out for ice cream, as we had eaten so little at captain Kidd's. A very disappointing experience.
