Pros: Glad it popped so that I can put some decent tires on my rig. Cons: Seems to come with trailers from the manufacturers. Cheap? Not cheap to replace!
I have four of these tires on my boat trailer ("Duro" ST205/75D14.) Yesterday, I suffered a catastrophic failure of the left rear boat trailer tire while rolling down the highway. I had only been on the highway for approx. 10 minutes, was going about 60 ...
Pros: The traditional style is appropriate for Crosley automobiles. Cons: I wish they were available in a 2" whitewall.
It's difficult enough to locate the correct-style tires for Crosleys, but Carlisle has this great tread and sidewall design in the USA Trail model that is very appropriate for our cars, and it's highly recommended for all the Crosleys where the owners...
Pros: At this point, I do not feel that I have any "pros" to share. Cons: I am concerned for my future safety when using the tires I currently have.
I purchased Carlisle Tires (2) for my boat trailer in 2001. These tires have less than 3400 miles on them. I am vigilant about checking pressure before and after the 6 trips these tires have been on. While the tires appear to look brand new, I had ...
Pros: none Cons: Worst tires I have ever had on a trailer. They are not safe.
In the last two trips to Lake Powell I have blown all five tires on my boat trailer. The tires were properly inflated and there was no indication of any problem on any of them until they came apart. The boat is stored in a enclosed garage and only sees the sun at the lake. I have had three other boats over a twenty year period and have never even had a flat tire, let alone blow outs. I feel that these are very inferior tires and I would NEVER buy another one.
These tires are not that bad by gator_trout ,May 09 '07
Pros: durable, minimal sidewall flex Cons: don't track as well as I'd like in wet weather
I bought my boat (and trailer) new in 2003. It came with the Carlisle USA Trail tires (175/80D13). I've towed mostly in Florida in summer months. I recently moved to Atlanta and towed back and forth to Florida a few times with no problems at all. They track great, don't wear much. I have a slight bit of dry rot but nothing major. After about 3000 miles they are were still doing great. I replaced them recently with Carlisle radial trailer tires which I may regret after reading some of those reviews.
