Pros: Fast, easy, and it works! Cons: Cannot use a power converter- bring a blow dryer to Europe!
First suggested by my hairdresser Billy, the Chi Flat Iron has been the key to straightening out my curly locks. Being lazy with my hair, I was frustrated with blow-drying my hair straight, but not quite ready to give up my curls for good with ...
heats up fast, straightens the FIRST time, long cord
Cons: Bulky plug-in....yeah that's all I can think of.
My hairdresser and friends raved about certain hair care products, and I'd skeptically shrug it off thinking that my money was better spent somewhere else. I'm cheap, what can I say? However, once I actually started seeing the damage cheap ...
Pros: Works very well, lasts a long time Cons: Expensive, can cause painful burns
I lusted after the Chi for several years before finally taking the plunge. When I entered the world of hair straighteners, I started with the mid-range versions (like Hot Tools and Wigo). I spent about $30-40 for these lesser tools and found they only ...
Pros: doesn't damage hair, fast 'n easy, flash heating Cons: works so well that if your friends don't have one, they'll want to use yours
OK guys, I know this is kind of cliche, but the CHI 1" True Ceramic Hair Straightener really does work wonders! I've had mine for a little over a year and it still amazes me to this day how b-e-a-utiful my hair can be! As the youngest ...
Pros: Straightened my Frizzy out of control hair! Cons: Cost a lot of money
I always grew up with very Frizzy, dry, and damaged hair. I would not even dare to blow drying my hair, if I did I could easily be the king lion of the jungle. My cousin is a hair dresser, we tried many different hair products and nothing worked. the ...
Pros: Even heat, no frizz, easy to use Cons: Heat control
I have tried so many flat irons in the past but this one is my favorite. I have had it for almost 3 years and I love it! It still works just like the first day. Leaves my hair completely straight and feeling smooth. The heat is always even and you do ...
Pros: Creates smooth shiny, healthy hair! Cons: Maybe the price, but wouldn't stop me from recommending it or buying another one.
My entire life I have had unmanageable hair. It is very dry, wavy, frizzy and thick. My mother is a hair dresser, so I have tried just about every product on the market to make my hair shiny and healthy with none working to my liking. I was only ...
Pros: Easy packing, heats up fast, shiny hair, doesn't pull hair, keeps hair strong, and healthy. Cons: I haven't found any.
Everyone was talking about the Chi 1" True Ceramic Hair Straightener and everyone had one. They all loved it and eventually talked me into buying one. Before I got what everyone in my home town called "The Chi" my hair was frizz central. Seriously, ask ...
Pros: Works well, heats up quickly, durable. Cons: Expensive, can burn if you are not careful.
I have thick hair that requires heat to set and I mean a lot of heat! I have two salon quality curling irons that I use on the hottest setting to get the results I want. When I bought my first flat iron, I went cheap because I wasn't sure ...
Pros: heats up quickly, makes hair smooth and sleek Cons: easily to burn yourself, very pricey, need to use protectant spray
I've always been a cheapskate when it comes to purchasing flatirons and I've always been disappointed with the results. My hair was always ok at first, but as the day went on, it would be become fuzzy again or the ends would flip up. So, I splurged on a ...
Pros: Gets very hot, works better than anything cheaper Cons: Might be prone to breaking
I have owned or used several flat irons. My hair is medium to fine textured, but very thick. It has a mind of its own. My hairstylist always uses the Chi, and I always loved how she got my hair to look with that flat iron. I was determined to ...
Pros: Works great, completely straightens hair, easy to use, lightweight, long cord, heats up quickly Cons: Price, easy to burn yourself if you're not careful, does not turn itself off
Even though this flat iron is expensive, it's still a great product and totally worth the price. When I first began straightening my hair years ago, I did not have the luxury of an item like this. I have used all sorts of techniques to straighten my ...
Pros: Gentle on hair. Perfect straight locks every time. Cons: no auto-off.
I have fairly straight hair with a few waves that I like to straighten out to create a smoother look. I had tried gels, shampoos, and other cheaper straightening options with no successful option. I am normally very conservative when it comes to ...
what the ****? this **** does NOT work!!! by epinionsuzr ,Aug 01 '08
Pros: It heats up and cools down fast. It's lightweight and easy to maneuver. Cons: IT DOESN'T STRAIGHTEN HAIR!! It's $150!
I kept hearing about how great the Chi was. So I was like, I guess I should buy it. I bought mine at Target for $150. I could not wait to try it! My old straightener, the Wet 2 Straight, worked but I wanted something that worked better. I was expecting stick straight hair. I really like how the Chi heated up fast and cooled down fast. And it got really hot, so I expected it to work really well. How WRONG was I! It sort of straightened my hair, but the back ended up frizzy and my hair curved in too much. It was barely straight at all!! My hair is medium thickness, and slightly wavy, so it's not like I have a thick afro or something!! Don't buy this!! I just gave it away to my friend for free. I got so fed up with straightening that I just got my hair permanently straightened. It only cost $100, $50 cheaper than that piece of ****.
Pros: Does not snag my hair, straightens it well Cons: Burns my hair and hands, cant control the temperature.
I just received the "original" Chi this Christmas Eve. I also own a similar ceramic straightener by Hot Tools. The reason for this want was due to the Hot Tools ripping my hair out. My stylist uses a Chi and I loved the results. The thing that I like about this straightener is that it thus far has not snagged my hair. This model gets way too hot! So hot in fact, that when I touch my hair after running it down a section (to grab the hair to retouch it up) my hair burns my hands quite painfully. This model also does not have a dial to control how hot it gets. I have been told that this will not damage my hair, but it sure does make my hair smoke. I am going to continue to use it and see how all goes. If not I will either be calling Farouk *or going over there, they are located in my city*, or taking it back to Ulta.
