Great Computer!

by zdtemp6 , Jul 21 '08
Pros: Large display, reliable, durable, comfortable for typing, functional
Cons: Heavy
I have owned my E1505 for 2 years. I do not have any complaints about its functionality. It has performed almost perfectly for me for 2 years. The few problems I have had with it were probably my fault. I bought this product because it had the ...

Runs Hot, a Touch Heavy, but still a Good Value

by super6logan , Aug 03 '08
Pros: good value, good performance
Cons: runs hot, runs loud, heavy
Screen The 15.4” screen seems to be the perfect size for a laptop. The whole idea of a laptop is portability so these 17” notebooks out these days really defeat the purpose. I find that the 15.4” screen provides plenty of real estate and the screen on ...

Better options available at same price or cheaper.

by adriangomez , May 07 '08
Pros: None.
Cons: Hot, heavy, bad battery performance, terrible support, inferior parts, and screen not very bright.
The computer runs extremely hot. Hotter than most laptops I have owned. It melted a portion of the dinning table padding, the rubber feet have fallen off due to the heat it generates (it melts the glue), and the loud fan is always on trying to cool it. I ...

The best laptop!

by surfnester , Aug 04 '08
Pros: customer service, warranty, ease of use, great battery, customizable
Cons: little large in dimensions(still lightweight though)
I've had my Dell PC for one year now. I love it! The Dell is so easy to start up. Mine came preinstalled with Windwows Vista and have had no problems. The keyboard on this laptop is a little larger but not quite as full as a regular keyboard. The ...

Doesn't work same after replacing hard drive
I took a lot of time to carefully consider which Laptop I wanted. I went through Dell customize to get exactly what I wanted. I have loved my Dell from the moment I received it, however, their tech support is awful. They have either sent me the wrong ...

Want to donate $100 to Dell?

by artisttype , Sep 18 '06
Pros: Fast Delivery nice screen
Cons: Won't hit the net. $100 restocking charge to send it back
Buy this system and you may well do that! The wireless will not work with one of the most popular modems out there, Bellsouth's Westell. I can't say how many Westells fail or what else it won't work with but buy this lemon and the following may well ...

Dell 1505 nitemare

by thenar , Aug 24 '06
Pros: Excellent hardware when it works
Cons: The worst customer servce and tech support I have ever experience...borders on criminal.
I bought a fully maxed out 1505 and it was a sweet machine for about three weeks until it died for no particular reason. I was in the middle of two monster projects. All my files were on the Dell. Fortunately(or so I thought)I'd bought the four year ...

I love it

by avodrok , Mar 23 '06
Pros: The large screen, light weight, duel core processor and media direct buttons are great!
Cons: The over two week wait and 8 week $250 mail in rebate wait are cons.
I recently bought a Dell Inspiron E1505 to replace my Sony Vaio that I bought back in 2001. This notebook is awesome. It has an Intel duel core processor, and there is a huge noticable difference between this computer's speed and multitasking ...

by nnnyyyaaa , Apr 16 '07
Pros: Easy to use, great picture, sound and features
Cons: Too much unnecessary software!

Windows Media Center E1505 NOT GOOD!!!

by vannygirl , Apr 21 '07
Pros: Good battery life; ease of use; customer service people friendly
Cons: Recurring error message; customer service unwilling to go above & beyond; keys pop off keyboard
Usually my computer works well. I am able to listen to music or video easily (but I RARELY use the Media Center for this) and run several applications. This is what most people would expect from their machine. BTW, I am a graduate student and use my ...

Pros: Gorgeous video & audio output, Easy to use multimedia controls, Excellent speed
Cons: No crash recovery CD, Too many useless trial softwares pre-bundled
I bought this laptop for my 4 months ago as she was preparing to go for her Master's in Applied Comp. Science program. She needed a laptop which would be able to take all the flogging such a university program inflicts on a laptop's capacity and yet be ...

Bad Laptop - Don't buy
by kennyyeung2001 ,Feb 18 '08
Pros: - None
Cons: - Problematic
I owned 6 laptops in the last years. This is the worst laptop of all. The speakers stop working, gets very hot & actually melted the body of the laptop just right after the warranty warranty. Poor customer service if you don't have a valid warranty. Cheap materials & not the best deal in the market.

I brought a set of new speakers from Dell & installed it. Suggest what...same problem. I had to take out the speakers from the laptop so that it won't burn up the laptop.

I called Dell's customer service & after waiting & waiting, all I got is a cold shoulder. They refused to do anything because this is not a safety issue but a hardware issue. I have to pay to fix the problem. They want to charge $150 (not exactly how much) for trouble-shooting. Any replacement part & services will be extra.

If you want to save some money, think twice! You save now but you will pay later.
