Tough call indeed

by xlugxmiop Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jun 21 '01
Pros: comfortable sleep, long-term warranty
Cons: expensive, expensive, expensive
There's a phenomenon which often occurs after people buy something that was clearly overpriced or "just not worth it". They're reluctant to admit that they indeed wasted their money, so instead they insist their purchase was the "greatest thing since ...

There's a new mattress in town.

by criteeker Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Aug 25 '01
Pros: Looks sleek, very comfy
Cons: COST!
Anyone who is considering a new Duxiana bed should read this!!! My parents own the Swedish-made Duxiana (aka Dux bed) and swear by it. In Sweden, these beds are so popular, that parents pass their beds down to their children - they DO, ...

Worth the Money?- Let me think....

by gardenerbob , Sep 07 '07
Pros: Built solidly. Very Firm. Can be adjusted
Cons: Questionable warranty, Very Expensive
So, why am I writing this review? Mostly to add to what the previous reviews have mentioned. I have owned the Dux Pascal mattress for about 3 years. The construction is solid- nice zippers and velcro to hold everything in place.(I have not had problems ...

Is it worth the money? YES

by dargentini , Nov 23 '02
Pros: Soft yet supportive, quality construction, all natural materials.
Cons: Price only.
After looking around for a replacement bed for our ten year old deluxe Sterns and Foster ($1200 in 1992) I would never have believed we would plunk down over $7000 for a new Dux bed had we not been blown away by its comfort and quality compared to other...

Awesome Comfort

by teddy123 , Sep 13 '03
Pros: Comfortable, good quality, 20 year warranty
Cons: Cost. I had to wait 2 weeks for delivery from Palo Alto to Monterey.
I wrote the review below in Sept. 03 and it is now August 2005. I would like to say that I am still in love with the Duxiana bed and do not regret my purchase. In fact, I just purchased the matching headboard. Yes, very expensive. From the reviews ...

Dux Sux

by nervousnelly , Aug 05 '03
Pros: The zipper around the mattress is durable. The quilting is pretty.
Cons: Spring module system has a poor design. Pillowtop created out of inferior materials.
I signed up for Epinions just so I could have the satisfaction of warning people about Duxiana beds. ...

We thought it would be better than our old saggy bed, we were wrong.

by springflowers , Jul 19 '03
Pros: A beautiful bed with hardwood legs.
Cons: The cassettes move around and compress, leaving a gap under your back.
My husband and I had a very old king size bed that sagged horribly and it was time to invest in a ne ...

Is it worth it? NO NO NO

by freshair1986 , Feb 12 '03
Pros: Appears to be well made. Solid and warranty is fair.
Cons: Cost does not equate to comfort.
I own a Dux and it's not worth an 1/8th of its incurred cost. Certainly it appears to be well made, but as to its long run comfort its a wash. I have owned this $6000.00 mattress system for 3 years and its made a home in one of our guest rooms. It wasn't...

Is it worth it? NO

by agriff , Jun 20 '03
Pros: Quality Construction; 20 year warranty, style
Cons: Cost, Long Term Comfort
My husband and I bought the top of the line Dux bed (model 7000 then) in 1999 for $7500. It included a box spring, mattress with interchangeable coil system and a cotton pad on top. The system allows you to move 3 different coil squares (per side of the...

Caution to prospective buyers

by bostonreviewer , Nov 26 '04
Pros: nice looking bed with solid wooden legs
Cons: really really uncomfortable and expensive
My spouse and I just bought a Duxiana King size Model 1001 plus the Pascal mattress topper for $6,000. We did this because I had heard that this was the top-of-the-line bed and we value uninterrupted deep sleep very highly. Too bad I didnt read all of ...

BE CAREFUL! DUX DOESN'T STAND BEHIND BEDS WITH DEFECTS.

by ljdustin , Feb 23 '06
Pros: A GREAT sleep for the first 4 years.
Cons: Expensive & doesn't hold up.
We tried many, many beds and were not happy until we decided to get the DUX bed. We originally got the cotton "topper" and for the first 4 years were in heaven! Then the topper wore out (which is as they said it would) and we bought a new one, only this ...

A guy's opinion: A great bed

by blevwal , Jul 16 '01
Pros: Excellent construction; phenomenal sleeping comfort
Cons: Pricey
OK, as a guy, you're not supposed to really think that something like a mattress should make much difference, but it really does.

You won't notice it when you're in the store, even if you lay on it for awhile (besides the fact that you're a...

After purchasing my DUX, I look forward to sleeping!

by dnokim , Jul 09 '06
Pros: Ultimate balance/harmony of SUPPORT & COMFORT! Individually HAND CRAFTED using BEST MATERIALS!
Cons: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
I'm more than happy and confident to say that I will be spending at least a third of my remaining life in a DUX bed (7007 with patented Pascal technology). In an age of thousand dollar suits, ten thousand(s) of dollar(s) watches, and hundred(s) of ...

I owned a Dux, but my Euro-Flex is the best ever !

by mmfgolf , Jan 20 '04
Pros: Great feeling at first.
Cons: Way too expensive. Doesn't hold up over time.
I owned a Duxiana bed (top of the line model 7000 series) for 4 1/2 years. It has 3 layers of different types of springs - the top layer is supposed to be customizable for each sleeper. At first, I thought I had made a good decision. But, after 4 ...

No other mattress can compare!

by babyMONKEY , Nov 11 '00
Pros: Everything!
Cons: It is expensive but it has a long term warranty.
My boyfriend first told me about the Swedish Duxiana mattress about a year ago. I decided to check it out for myself so I went to the Duxiana store in Manhattan. Once I laid down on it, I could not get up. I wanted to stay there forever. It sounds...
