Pros: An excellent choice for any sport-ute. Cons: Snow traction.
cThe Firestone Wilderness LE Tire provides exceptional handling for todays sport utilities. This tire dates back before the Wilderness recall days which has given it a bad image. With almost 10 years in the tire business I can say that this tire never ...

So-So
by dougbennett ,Mar 06 '06
Pros: Wear like iron; not all that expensive; Cons: Ride like iron after very few miles; mediocre wet-traction
These tires were very quiet when I got them. (I have an '02 Chevy Tahoe). But at about 8,000 miles, they started wearing unevenly (despite my regular alignments and pressure checks). They also squeal when I turn the wheel all the way at low speeds.
That said, they do wear VERY well. I'm at 46,000 miles and can probably for at least another 10,000.
Wet traction is so-so at best. They slip on pavements markings (those white striped used for crosswalks.) I have never driven the car in snow, so I can't speak to how they perform in winter.
A decent tire that wears well, but would I go out of my way to buy them as replacements? Nope.

A very quiet tire...that's inexpensive.

Pros: Smooth, 480 Treadwear!, good grip!, inexpensive. Cons: Rain traction not the best.
I can't see using these in the "Wilderness"....
I have had these tires on my Toyota Tundra for a year and a half now and find them to be excellent for their intended purpose, that would be on pavement driving. Rain driving with these tires is pretty darn good, but not the best. They feel very stable at high speed and is fairly sharp corners( mind you this is a pick-up). They have lasted pretty long too, even my power brake burn-outs have yet to wear them out! the only place I can't recommend these tires is off road, which is fine because most off roaders would never consider this tyre anyway or if you plan to do a lot of hauling, reason behind this is because the side walls kinda bulge out a little when you have the bed full. All in all, I have no real complaints.
Mine were size 265/70R-16

A Long Lasting Tire
by clehberger ,Feb 16 '06
Pros: Long life, competitive cost Cons: None
These tires came with my heavy 2002 Tahoe. After 58,000 miles they still have half the tread left! We have used them extensively in snow with great traction. They were very quiet until about 50,000 miles, and now slightly noisy.

Wilderness LE...
by golden00 ,Oct 29 '05
Pros: Quiet and very good in dry conditions. Cons: Punctured easily, bad in wet and winter conditions, tread didnt hold up past 30,000 miles
These came stock on my 2003 Chevy Tahoe. I barely got 30,000 miles out of them. They are the crappiest tires I have ever owned. They were horrible on wet and winter conditions. They punctured very easily - I had to replace one for running over a 2x4 that somehow splintered and stuck into the tire (This was the third puncture Id had in this set). The garage guy said the wall on these tires were shockingly thin. Firestone said - "too bad". Great customer service coming from a company that was producing tires that ended up killing people.
Ive switched to Michelin Cross Terrain SUVs - and am so far happy with them.
