Pros: Garmin talks to you.
You can take Garmin anywhere!
Extremely dependable! Cons: I recommend buying the warranty package.
Only annoying thing: Can you say "recalculating?"
What a wonderful invention! I, Anthony Pierpont, am a PROUD owner of this great product. This product has saved me MANY times for getting to the right place on time. I live in the cities so the streets can be confusing at times. The Garmin Nuvi not ...

Pros: Smaller than a deck of cards and lighter in weight. Generally very accurate. Cons: Directions through downtown areas not dependable. Tricky to set if parked undercover.
This small, lightweight unit gives street names along with the turn-by-turn directions; other units I considered weigh more, are far bulkier, or do not verbalize the street names. Although the advantages of "small" and "lightweight" may be evident, the ...

Pros: Size, Ease of use for first-timer. Accuracy. Cons: Missing some established POI's in some areas.
Bought it before a family trip to Central Florda. Ripped open the box in the parking lot and it worked like a charm! Easy to enter address info, even if you have big hands. Good Points of Interest, especially in the Orlando Area. However, I live in ...

Pros: Great directions, intuitive controls, MP3/JPG w/SD, Smaller than most cameras. Cons: Pricey, pop out GPS antenna, Traffic feature costs extra (I'd buy 3 if free).
I did some minor research and Nuvi 350 universally recommended on a number of electronics sites. I bought it hours before leaving on my honeymoon where we planned to tour California's major cities and drive the coast. We were told Hertz couldn't give us ...

Pros: Accurate routes. Small in size, great touch screen, talks the street names Cons: takes about 2-5 mins to connect - everything else is sweet
I was so nervous about buying a Garmin because of all the talk about waiting up to 8 minutes for it to connect to the GPS satalites. Well all I can tell you is that it is basicaly true. Meaning that even if you are outside with absolutley no ...

Pros: Very light to carry, looks good, battery power is good Cons: Not that accurate but does its duty in emergency
I bought Garmin Nuvi 350 Portable/Vehicle GPS Navigation as a gift for my husband in December 2006. After some problems with the first one I returned it back and then they sent me a new one.The second did not turn on at all and feeling bit frustated we ...

Pros: Gets you anywhere fast and efficient. Cons: Expensive.
After having the Garmin nüvi 350 GPS Receiver for approximately one year I do not know how I survived without it. You just type in the address where you want to go and it takes you there, its really that simple. The size of the GPS was what first ...

Pros: dependable; pocket size; 2008 maps are very accurate; ready to use out the box. Cons: Have to pay for the travel guide, wish it were part of the purchase.
pocket size; overall performance; accurate; ease-of-use; and screen graphics are it's high points. I've tested three other models prior to settling with the Garmin nuvi 350. It has been very accurate (none are 100%) at this point, but close enough. ...

Pros: Navigation is great when it chooses to work. Cons: Two units-both had problems
I purchased a Garmin nuvi 350 in May 2007. The satellites went out while on a long distance trip to the East Coast. We were lost in a rural area and spent a lot of time trying to find someone who could help us get to an interstate. The unit never did ...

Pros: Small, portable, accurate and lightweight. Cons: Can take awhile to locate a satellite.
I still think an old fashioned paper map is fine for anyone with half a brain and the willingness unfold one, but if you want to get where you're going without delay or confusion, the Garmin 350 is a great, modern mapping tool. I bought this as a ...

Pros: Compact, light, battery-powered, 3D display, sensitive SiRF satellite reception, SD expansion slot Cons: Internal, non-replaceable lithium-ion battery and cost.
I received my Garmin Nuvi 350 on 12/21/05 and have been using it everywhere I traveled. It is very compact and light which makes it easy to slip into a bag. This is a great feature as I would not want to leave my Garmin Nuvi in the car. It comes with ...

Won't leave home without it!
by angela511 ,Nov 12 '07
Pros: Compact, bright screen, accuracy, touch-screen, user-friendly. Cons: Short battery life, slow processing time, and occasional trouble with acquiring satellite.
I bought this for my husband's birthday. He wasn't sure at first, because he's not a "gadget guy." After one trip using it though, he was hooked. It's compact, light, portable, accurate, and extremely user friendly. I have used it a number of times, and I was amazed that I could get places I had gone before much more quickly. It allows you to choose between faster time or shorter distance. The voice commands are clear, but if needed, you can easily switch to written directions. There is a place to store your favorites, so no need to enter them again. There is an expansion slot for additional memory if needed. I've use it on the ground and even in the air to see current location and ground speed. The only trouble I've had was in Atlanta. It had difficulty acquiring a satellite signal. I'm guessing it was the tall buildings interfering. The other thing is slow processing. If you know the exact location name, it processes quickly. But if you type in only a partial name, you'll get a list of everything in the U.S., and that takes a little longer to process.

Tried two other GPS units then got the Nuvi and love it!
by msabgeo ,Oct 23 '06
Pros: Very portable, can easily fit into a purse or pocket. Clear, precise directions. Cons: Limited to one way point on route.
We wanted to get a GPS unit and tried two other units before getting out Consumer Reports and going with the Nuvi they recommended. We find it works very well, and the voice prompts are timely and easy to understand - although it does pronounce a couple of streets differently than the "Locals". We bought a second mounting bracket and dashboard disks so that the unit can be easily moved from one vehicle to the other (we leave the mounting hardware attached to the dash). It's great in the vehicle but also very good when in a strange area for walking around to sightsee.
We have and will continue to recommend this unit to friends and family.

This trucker says it's the best investment I made
by yellowtang ,Nov 12 '06
Pros: small and thin, tough, glass clamp is great, and the touch screen works great Cons: 5-6 hour battery life
I started a new job driving a truck and the employer didn't give me maps to the 20 stops I had to make each day. So I bought one of these and life is easy. I love all the extra stuff it gives you like , rest areas, fuel stops, restaurant, calculator, measurement converter, currency converter, it also is a MP3 player and has audible book player for those long trips.
If your a trucker these is the unit to get. Only because this unit has truck routes installed in it, also it does Mexico and Canada. Most of the GPS units out there don't have the information we need installed in it.
The unit does have a short battery life only about 6 hours if that but it does come with a 12 volt charger.
