Pros: Lots of memory! Great for almost everything!
Wireless, Bluetooth, It's even a remote control! Cons: Slow for games. The PXA250 is old compared to the latest PDAs. Poor battery life!
The first part of this review is about the device. Read on to the 2nd part if you're interested in how I got my great 2nd hand deal! Review: Compared to a palm which I used for several years, this thing has a very slow start up, and ...
Pros: Built in WiFi and Bluetooth. User Changeable Battery, Memory Slot, Bright Cons: Price
Background:
I have had a Palm Vx, iPAQ 3635, and worked with friends who had a Palm IIIc and Palm III. I once was a big palm advocate (and still am for a low price basic pda) but when a friend of mine got an iPAQ 3635, I had to have one and it...
Pros: Wireless, Fingerprint Reader, Detachable Battery Cons: Not really a PC, Ability of Data Loss
Screen Size
Where did PDA's come from, and look where they are going. At one time, they were there to store appointments and work as a Rolodex. Now, they have become a glorified Rolodex.
The next generations of PDAs are called Pocket PC's. They...
Pros: Built-In WIFI and Blue Tooth Cons: Buggy, built-in WIFI produces sporadic errors, stops working, software resets needed
I took the plunge into the Pocket PC world with the 5450 as more of an experiment. I've spent the last 10 years as a diehard Palm user. Though my usage is light -- virtually limited to looking up appointments and addresses -- I can't leave home without...
Pros: Truly a powerful and feature rich unit Cons: Beware of BAD Pixels

If you do purchase the iPaq 5455 make sure to inspect your display closely!! I am packing up my SECOND UNIT for return to the retailer. It pains me to write this but it looks like HP is...
First, let's eliminate the confusion. The 5450 and 5455 are exactly the same. They have different numbers to help the Compaq and HP brand managers justify their existence. It also helps confuse you and me, which I think is the ultimate goal of brand...

The product performs generally to expectations except for battery life. WiFi is exceptional, easy and works well. Audio output seems weaker than the 3200/3400 series, but great improvements in the Media player functionality, especially play list creation. IRecomended for existing users wishing for power, and better performance, but a bit advanced for first time PDA users

The device as such is very nice, it has a superb display and the fingerprint recognition is cool.
However, one of the main features, the 802.11b wireless LAN has a serious flaw:
While so-called ad-hoc networks work fine, I was so far unable to associate this thing to any 802.11 base-station. And according to HP's user forum I am not alone! Many users report problems getting their devices to associate to either specific or any WLAN base stations.
Their seems to be a major bug in their WLAN driver!
for professional use there's no better than the 5400 series ipaq. But if it's for personal use, things like mp3 and vieo games, You're much better off to go with an ipaq 3900.

Far better than its nearest competitor - Toshiba e740, with better features and value. Recommended.
I tried Toshiba e740 earlier, it crashes whenever I enable my wireless network or even my Inbox.
HP 5455 seem to be handling this well.
I think this is the best IPaq yet!! I've been wating for this type of combo for some time. The integration of Wi-Fi (128bit encript) and BlueTooth technology without the need for an expansion pack is a must in order to be fully mobile, plus the removable battery (with internal backup) and optional extended battery available makes this a great choice for the road warrior who needs the extra time.. The display is even brighter than previous versions and does a better job at adjusting to light contidions.A word of caution if you don't turn of the power to the WiFi and bluetooth when not in use you'll be wasting battery life...
