Pros: Easy to move around since it does not weigh much. Cons: Not worth the money spent.
I too made this expensive mistake. We had just moved into our first house and were looking into getting a new bed since we were moving from a Fifth wheel trailer. We bought this bed because of my husbands bad back. I should have known that the ...
Pros: Comfortable, adjustable and vibrates (when it is working properly). Cons: Service nightmare, read the FINE PRINT, not worth the money, made on the cheap....
I purchased my king size Select Comfort bed at the Select Comfort store in 'The Falls' Shopping Mall in Miami. The bed cost me almost $4,000.00 in December of 2002. I was told by the sales representative (Rosa) that the bed was just wonderful and came ...
Pros: Easy to Assemble, Strong, Durable, Provides Great Support, Looks Great with Coverlet Cons: None
When doing my research on the internet I noticed that most air bed manufacturers do not suggest using box springs as a foundation as they do not provide the correct support needed for an air bed. Since I finally decided on buying a Select Comfort 5000 Se ...
Pros: none Cons: cheaply made, foundation prone to breaking and sagging, poor fit, assembly can be difficult
This is easily the worst product I have ever purchased. I highly recommend a conventional bed if you are thinking about buying a bed. I've had nothing but problems with this product and I don't expect my luck to change. The first problem was ...
Pros: Firmness is adjustable Cons: TOO HOT; does NOT breathe; first bed's bladders covered with mold; flimsy "boxspring"
This bed is a fantastic concept...but it fails on a number of levels, the primary one being that it DOES NOT BREATHE. You are sleeping on what are essentially huge rubber air bladders, so if you run even the slightest bit warm, you'll roast in the ...
Pros: Flexibility, easy to move, light enough to make sheet changes a breeze! Cons: It's a little pricey.
I admit it, I'm fickle; I used to sleep around. I'd sleep in my kid's bed, on the couches, and even in a chair. But, no more. We have the Select Comfort bed, and now I can change the firmness at the press of a button. If only it would stop my husband ...
Pros: None Cons: High priced air mattress. Not a good bed for seniors or persons with arthritis.
My husband and I purchased a Select Comfort Sleep Number bed system last year (July 2006) because we both had back problems and I was getting up every morning with a backache. After seeing commercials on TV and ads in magazines, we visited a Select ...
Pros: lightweight, easy to move the furniture, no heavy components Cons: 50/50 chance of getting a lemon - poor customer support - sags and sqeaks
We have 2 Select Comfort beds. The first one I bought was a double size bed. It was okay, though spongy on the sides. The platform on that one works well. A few years later, we got a bigger, queen size bet. The queen platform has never fit together ...
Select Comfort King Matress & Foundation by ken430tx ,Mar 03 '08
Pros: The first customer service lady, Marge was a gem! Cons: Less than 90 days old and two major failures!
We bought this bed to help with chronic back pain. Shortly after the 30-day trial period the pump began leaking air. Marge at Select Comfort (very nice lady) sent us a new one, but I had to remove the old and install the new one and return prepaid the pump. All was well for another 35 days and then the bladder began leaking on my side! Another call to Select Comfort. This time the lady was rude (not Marge)! After basically questioning my complaint (I was waking up in a "cup" due to the air leaking overnight) she finally agreed to send a new bladder. Again, I did the removal and installation, alot of work, and the return of the old bladder (prepaid). So far all is finally working OK, but based on our experience so far, I would never buy another bed from them! This bed was $2500 tax, and so far it has NOT been worth it!
Pros: NONE Cons: VERY RESTLESS SLEEP. SAGS IN THE MIDDLE IF I WANT TO SPOON WITH THE WIFE.
We have had our bed for a couple of years now because we are trying to save up our money for a conventional bed.
This bed sags in the middle due to my wife and I spooning during sleep. It now has a permanent sag. We have contacted the company on numerous occasions and all they did was send me two foam pieces to go between the mattresses. I also have tries numerous settings and wake every morning stiff as a board and a lower back pain that doesn't go away for several hours after waking up. I would not recommend this bed to anyone...ANYONE WANNA BUY MY SLEEP COMFORT?
BEST FOUNDATION EVER!!!!!! by lynn0707 ,Mar 27 '07
Pros: Great for allergy suffer. Can go anywhere. Cons: Ugly without cover.
Lite weight and fits on my frame nicely. Its quite and I know that it wont collect dust or anything else in it. Not much to it but it does the job and it has a cover that makes it look good.
Glorified Air Mattress / Torture Rack by fsleepnumber ,Aug 06 '06
Pros: Its not filled with broken glass; actually that might be more comfortable. Cons: Doesn't come equipped with a time machine to prevent myself from buying this nightmare.
I cannot express how uncomfortable this expensive, over hyped piece of junk is. I bought the Sleep Number 10 months ago and it has steadily decreased in quality and comfort. The "sleep number" system is basically one big air mattress. It is lumpy, prone to deflating, awkward to assemble, and entirely uncomfortable. No matter how many settings I try the results are the same; an uneven mattress of divots and lumps that shifts air back and forth with every movement in the bed. I am a 30 year old man in excellent health, and this mattress has caused back pain, neck and arm pain, sleepless nights and irritability. I despise this piece of junk and despite paying $1600 for it, must either replace it immediately or give up on the idea of getting a good night sleep. Avoid at all costs.
Surprised at negative reviews by drakehouse1 ,May 10 '05
Pros: comfort, separately adjustable Cons: none
Wow. I have to say I'm really surprised with the negative reviews. We've had our Select Comfort bed for over 5 years now and LOVE it. We purchased it when I was pregnant with second child, so I've slept on it through two pregnancies and after. My husband also suffers from chronic pain (fibromyalgia), and swears by it. Whenever we sleep at hotels (and we stay at nice ones with good quality mattresses), he's dying the next day. He can't wait to get home to his Select Comfort. We've recently purchased an RV that came with an awful, lowest grade possible, mattress and we're now about to purchase a Select Comfort queen size for the RV. The only problem we had initially was they sent us a king cover for our cal king bed ... that was quite frustrating getting it to all "fit", but when I realized the problem and called, they even sent a person from the store to "install" it for us (I was pregnant and frustrated). Other than that ... it's been a dream!
Pros: separate adjustable air chambers.
has held up well.
nice remote control Cons: being an older mattress it is not as thick as the current mattresses
My bed is over 13 years old and we have loved it. To sleep on a regular mattress is torture. I have MS with constant pain and this bed allows me to sleep. My husband says I like to sleep in a hammock which I can by using a low sleep number but luckily he can sleep at the same time on a rock because of the dual air chambers. Both my married sons have invested in the select comfort bed as well. Number 1 son bought a sleep number queen before he was married (didn't as mom first)and found he had to buy a king after baby 1 was born. Now the queen is at my oldest child home for my visits.
We bought this 6 months ago. I have never had so much pain in my entire life... Each night I get to fight the uphill battle (I sleep opposite of my husband). If two people are sleeping in this bed it WILL sag to the center. Guess what just called the company for a refund of our $2900.00 we spent on this bed... and guess what? they will not take it back!!! They are sending me more foam to help raise the center. I could have done better purchasing a $100.00 deal somewhere. Save the $$$ and don't even try it out... once you do your stuck with it! If you want a sleep number bed be happy to sell ours! We now have to store this thing and get a real bed to sleep on. It has ruined our sex life due to the chronic back pain we have.
