Pros: Higher weight limit and harness slots than most other convertibles Cons: Heavy, some installation issues, & may not last to 65lbs, depending on the child
UPDATE! 9/9/07 I installed this seat in the Passat center with seatbelt. See review body. UPDATE! 3/24/07 I installed this seat in the Xterra center with lapbelt. See review body. I recently purchased this seat, to replace the Evenflo ...
Pros: Easy Installation, higher harness straps for taller kids, comfortable and not bulky. Cons: It's heavy but that's a small price to pay for a great/safe car seat!
We love this seat! My 2 year old does too! We purchased it from Albeebaby.com (no tax or shipping so it was a great deal!) about a month ago and couldn't be happier. Our son just turned 2 and is about as tall as a 3 year old. We had an Eddie Bauer ...
Pros: 65lb weight limit, capability to tether rear facing, narrow Cons: VERY poor installations, VERY difficult installations
I ordered this direct from Sunshine Kids with the intention of using it for my oldest son (5yo, 43" & 40lbs) in my husband's work/pool vehicles (typically a Ford Escape or F-150). Since I also have two younger children in harnessed carseats whatever fit ...
Pros: We love them! Very good investment. Cons: Difficult to install.
Yes - you read that correctly. I love these carseats. My husband loves these carseats. My children love these carseats. But even though all this carseat "love" is going around, I urge you to beware, and to be cautious when considering this seat for your ...
Pros: narrow seat, tall harness top slots, harnesses over 40lbs Cons: doesnt' fit all vehicles
The Sunshine Kids Radian Granite Convertible Car Seat is rearfacing for children 5-33 pounds and forward facing for children 22-65 pounds. It has top slots of 18-19" tall (some people get 18 when measuring, others 19.... I got 19"). My daughter had ...
Pros: *Folds flat
*You CAN buy a carrying bag
*Higher upper weight limit for forward facing Cons: *Weighs 20 lbs+
*Awkward to carry
*Installs very poorly
*Can't properly tighten the straps
We bought this as a second carseat for trips. We fly a lot and hoped this seat would offer us the peace of mind we sought. We currently have/use a Britax Marathon as our primary carseat. Perhaps we have been spoiled by the quality and ease of use our ...
Pros: strong frame, comfortable to sleep in, narrow seat, 5 point harness to 65 lbs Cons: Its kinda heavy but not much more than any other car seat
After countless hours of researching car seats online and asking around I and hearing about this carseat several places I decided to get one. A couple of the things I love about it are the framing the car seat has, (part of what makes it so heavy. lol) ...
Pros: Very safe when installed properly, easy adjust strap Cons: Heavy, difficult to remove cover for cleaning
After reading horrible stories about booster seats for older children, I was quickly on the hunt for a safer booster seat. It amazed me there are very few 5 point seats for children over 30 pounds that will grow with them until they are big enough to be ...
Pros: Higher rear-facing limit and top shoulder slot, folds flat, great for travel, slimmer than most Cons: none!
We researched this purchase for a very long time - after watching crash test videos with carseats, we decided to keep our son rear facing as long as possible, and in a 5-point harness as long as possible after that. This seat will allow us to do that. ...
Pros: -Sleek Design
-Safety for a forward-facing child Cons: -poor infant support in the Radian 65
-very poor customer service at Sunshine Kids
Our new Radian just arrived yesterday and overall I am pleased with this seat. It was a breeze to install using the latch system. I was able to anchor it in less then half the time it took me to install our Evenflo Triumph. The sleek design is definitely ...
We love this seat. It is slightly narrower on the exterior than most of the other leading brands. But it seems to give just as much space to the child. We have two of these installed in the back of our tiny Subaru, and they have worked well. Other ...
Pros: Great to travel with, folds very small.
Easy and great installation. Cons: A bit heavy to carry around the airport.
I bought two of these car seats, one for our 2 1/2 year old boy and one for our 8 month old (rear facing). We travel (fly) a lot and that is why I wanted to purchase the seats, however, I needed to be sure they tested well, with regards to safety in a ...
Pros: easily in and out of car, safe, nice looking Cons: they are heavy!!
We were very sad when our twins outgrew their graco cute baby seat that latched into bases already in my car. my kids grew very big very fast and we needed new seats before they were ready for toddler/kid seats. We researched seats but these didn't come up. We almost bought some seats that looked nice but reviews suggested the belts pinched legs. Luckily my sister in law had one of these.
our nanny puts them in her car 3 days a week taking them out after each outing, and then we replace them in my car on the weekend, no problem. We took two of them on a cross country flying trip with two stops to visit in different cities. they were very heavy but we made it with two of us, two of them (the babies) and A LOT of stuff.
when we first got them we used them rear facing and then changed to forward facing. they have been soaked by kids in wet bathing suits, etc. we plan on these being our last car seats
Pros: High harness weight, high rear facing weight, folds for storage Cons: Heavy, hard install in some vehicles, non machine washable cover
I love the seat, it's comfortable, looks nice and I know my daughter will be harnessed as long as possible. I put her in it the other night when it arrived and she was excited. She did not want out of it.
The straps are nice and tight
She can not get the clip open
It will rear face until 33lbs
I can tether it rear facing
It's narrow enough to fit the Radian, my Cosco Scenera and an adult in the back seat
She can sleep comfortably in it
It has one of the highest harness slots
Steel Frame minimizes spinal compression so forward facing children's shoulders can be higher than the highest harness slot unlike any other seat on the market.
Not only that Sunshine Kids has one of the best customer service I've ever seen.
Pros: Great installation. Nice and compact. Fits so securely. Cons: Fabric not washable. Heavy to move.
We love this carseat. It is easy to use. We have three kids in the back seat and they all fit fine. We find that it doesn't move at all once installed properly compared to other carseats that just don't fit securely.
